Defense ministry: Azerbaijani troops don’t stop sabotage actions

Armenian Defense Ministry issued a statement in connection with recent tensions on the Line of Contact between the armed forces of Karabakh and Azerbaijan.

The statement says in particular:“The situation on the Line of Contract has become tense in recent days. Azerbaijani troops do not stop their attempts to infiltrate into Armenian positions and carry out sabotage actions. Various kinds of small and large caliber guns as well as mortars, antiaircraft guns and thermobaric weapons are being used against NKR Defense Army.

Border settlements recently came under fire more frequently, with losses from both sides increasing with each passing day.
Armenian Defense Ministry says that Azerbaijan’s mode of action contradicts the spirit and logic of negotiations on the Karabakh conflict settlement and poses a real threat of large-scale military operations.

Armenian Defense Ministry calls on the Azerbaijani side to refrain from escalating tensions and make efforts in order to stabilize the situation on the Line of Contact.

If Azerbaijani side continues actions aimed at escalating tensions, the Armenian armed forces will have to take tougher retaliatory measures against Azerbaijani Defense Ministry’s actions which are deprived of military logic and stem from unreasonable hatred”.
