Georgian foreign minister: Region does not need another frozen conflict
Georgia hopes for an ‘immediate eradication of the conflict” between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Panjukidze told reporters.
“We are following the events between Azerbaijan and Armenia with deep concern. I am absolutely sure that neither our region nor the world need yet another frozen conflict, yet another hotbed of tension so I am sure that the leaders of the two countries will find a common language and a peaceful settlement to the conflict,” she said, expressing special concern over the deaths of servicemen from both sides.
“As far as I know, a meeting of the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan is already planned which allows me to hope that the conflict will be settled,” M. Panjikidge said.
