Armenian defense minister, US ambassador discuss border situation

Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan and U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern discussed the tense situation on the Line of Contact between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan and on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, Armenian Defense Ministry said.

During the meeting the sides expressed their deep concern over the escalation of tension and discussed ways of deescalating the situation, first of all within the OSCE Minsk Group framework.

John Heffern expressed his condolences to the families of the servicemen killed in recent incidents and called on all the sides to deescalate the situation.
