Seyran Ohanyan: There are still no grounds for large-scale hostilities

The situation on the Line of Contact of the Armenian and Azerbaijani armed forces remains tense, Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan was quoted as saying by yerkirmedia.am.

“The situation on the frontline is tense. No doubt, our neighbors (Azerbaijan) may organize a provocation at any moment that may develop into a war,” Ohanyan told reporters following a meeting with representatives of the Armenian parliamentary factions.

“Today we, the Armenian president, the military and political leadership do everything to reduce the level of tension. Analysis in recent days shows that in a global sense, there are still no grounds for large-scale military operations,” Armenian defense minister said.

He stressed that all responsibility for the situation and the casualties of both sides lies on Azerbaijani leadership.
