Armenian MES troops ready to perform combat duty
At the government session today Armenian Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsyan proposed that an area be allocated where civil defense troops can undergo military training.
“Civil defense troops of Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) currently keep watch on the border together with the Azerbaijani army. We also have a civil defense service that has 4,000 members. We propose that an area where our guys can perform civil defense duties be allocated to us,” Yeritsyan said.
Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan said he will discuss the issue with the defense minister who expressed his readiness to examine the proposal.
