Serzh Sargsyan: CSTO position is clear, no need for them to react now

The Collective Security Treaty Organisation has a clear position on the violations on the Armenian borders, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said in an interview with ArmNews TV, reminding of the CSTO 2012 document, which highlights all answers.

Responding to a question of why the CSTO has not in any ways reacted to the recent violations on the Armenian borders, Serzh Sargsyan said: “I do not think there was any need for that. CSTO activities are always conditioned by the application of the injured state.”

“I am indeed sure there was no need for CSTO reaction. If anyone thinks that Azerbaijanis would stop their operations should the CSTO have reacted, I think they are not quite right. What about the CSTO position in general, that has been enshrined in 2012 document and that document is still in force. CSTO position is clear,” President Sargsyan concluded.
