40-44% percent of tourists visiting Armenia are from Russia

474,989 people departed from Armenia as tourists in January-June 2014, marking a 14.8% increase compared with the same period of last year, head of the Tourism Department of Armenian Economy Ministry Mekhak Apresyan told a press conference on Wednesday.

495,967 tourists visited Armenia in January-June 2014, a 17.3% increase compared with last year, the tourism official said, citing statistical data.

According to him, 40-44% percent of tourists who visited Armenia were from Russia, while 14-15% were Europeans.
