Kurz: Austria concerned over human rights situation in Azerbaijan

“We are concerned over human rights situation in Azerbaijan. In a few days I will travel to Azerbaijan and have the opportunity to discuss this problem, among others,” Austrian Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz said in Yerevan today during a joint press conference with Armenian counterpart Edward Nalbandyan.

Austrian Minister for Foreign Affairs and Integration Sebastian Kurz has arrived in Yerevan at the invitation of Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan. The two ministers had talks prior to the press conference.

According to Mr. Kurz, Austria as a member of the Council of Europe that attaches special value to human rights is concerned about the state of political prisoners in Azerbaijan. We will use the opportunity to express criticism, he said.
