Armenians of Kessab receive Armenian passports

Armenia’s Consul General in Aleppo Tigran Gevorgyan visited Kessab and Latakia on September 4-6. In the Holy Cross Church of Kessab, he handed out Armenian passports to Kessab Armenians, Armenian Foreign Ministry said.

Congratulating Kessab Armenians on the acquisition of Armenian citizenship, Tigran Gevorgyan highly appreciated their willingness and inflexible will to live and create in their land.

On behalf of those present, Kessab Mayor Vazgen Chaparyan thanked the Armenian authorities for their special attention and care.

The ceremony was followed by a meeting, during which the consul general and the mayor discussed the problems of Kessab residents and their solutions.

On September 6 the Armenian Consulate General in Aleppo held a reception for Armenians residing in coastal regions of Syria.
