Nalbandyan: Greece proved its commitment to universal values

Armenia hails the passage by the Greek parliament of the law criminalizing the Armenian Genocide denial, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan said in a statement.

“Armenia hails the Greek parliament’s passage of the law that criminalizes denial of the genocides recognized by the legislative body of Greece.

Greece has proved once again its commitment to universal values and took a significant step aimed at the prevention of genocides and other crimes against humanity,” the statement says.

As was reported, the Greek parliament adopted on Tuesday night a bill that envisages punishment for fomenting racist and xenophobic violence and denial of the Genocides of the Armenians and the Greeks, the Holocaust, and Nazism.
