Edward Nalbandyan receives French MPs

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan received today a French parliamentary delegation led by Alian Neri, Vice President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the head of the French delegation in OSCE PA, Armenian Foreign Ministry said.

E. Nalbandyan appreciated highly the contribution of French MPs to the development of Armenian-French relations, underlining the role of active contacts at the parliamentary level in the promotion of bilateral ties.

He welcomed the visit that a representative delegation of French senators and MPs and members of the friendship groups with Armenia and Artsakh is paying to Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh, stressing that such visits create an opportunity to get first-hand information.

The French delegation members thanked E. Nalbandyan for the reception. In their words, they are impressed by the visit to Artsakh and the meetings with local authorities and citizens – while living in difficult conditions, the people of Artsakh have achieved success in state building and development.

The MPs assured Minister Nalbandyan that they will continue to make efforts aimed at deepening of bilateral relations. Cooperation of the Armenian and French delegations within the frame of international organizations’ parliamentary assemblies was discussed at the meeting.

At the French guests’ request, Edward Nalbandyan spoke about the efforts of Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs on the settlement of the Karabakh conflict.

The sides also discussed a number of regional and international problems.
