Vardanayn: ARFD not going to quit format of “the four”
ARF-Dashnaktsutyun Party has no goal of freezing relations with the four non-government parliamentary political forces of Armenia, the secretary of ARFD faction Aghvan Vardanyan said at a briefing in the parliament today.
“We do not cooperate with the authorities, we just have our own ideas of constitutional reforms,” he said.
In his words, that fact that ARFD deems these reforms necessary does not mean that there is cooperation. As for cooperation with other political forces, Vardanyan gave his assurances that the disagreements over the issue do not mean a split within ‘the four’.
“We propose discussing, developing together and reconciling our package of proposals on the constitutional reforms. If we develop it, our positions will become stronger,” ARFD faction secretary said.
Commenting on the interview of Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) leader Gagik Tsarukyan, A. Vardanyan noted that BHK leader said something new.
“It is not what BHK members said until now. And what we propose is a continuation of it. What prevents us from preparing our package of proposals and presenting it to the public and authorities in parallel with that? It is a tactical issue and regardless of everything, we will stipulate and present our notions,” Vardanyan said stressing that ARFD is not going to quit the format of “the four”.
