Arsen Khojoyan discharged from hospital

Arsen Khojoyan, 23 - a resident of Verin Karmiraghbyur village in Armenia’s Tavush province who was freed from Azerbaijani captivity on April 10 – has been discharged from hospital. He underwent treatment for two weeks at Armenian Health Ministry’s Research Medical Center of Dermatology and Sexually Transmitted Diseases, according to the press service of Health Ministry.

After his release from Azerbaijani captivity, Khojoyan was diagnosed with vulgar psoriasis. As the disease exacerbated, Arsen Khojoyan was transported from Sevan in Gharkunik province where he raised cattle to Hrazdan medical center, and was then taken to the mentioned medical research center.

After undergoing an examination, Arsen Khojoyan received appropriate treatment. Doctors say he is now in remission and continues to take drugs at home.

If necessary his treatment in a hospital will resume.

On March 7, 2014, Azerbaijani APA news agency reported citing Shahin Sailov, the secretary of the State Commission on POWs, Missing Persons and Hostages, that an Armenian citizen aged 20-22 was detained in Tovuz region of Azerbaijan, while crossing the line of contact. It turned out that the detainee was 23-year-old resident of Armenia’s Tavush province Arsen Khojoyan who crossed the border by accident as he lost his way in dense fog. The young man is a distant relative of 77-year-old Mamikon Khojoyan who was detained by Azerbaijan on March 4 of this year, subjected to torture while in Azerbaijani captivity and died on May 20, 2014 soon after being released.
