Melikyan: Membership of EEU creates ample opportunities for development

Armenia’s membership of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) will create ample opportunities for economic development of the country, the secretary of Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) faction Gagik Melikyan said at a press conference today.

“First of all, Armenia will get privileges concerning free movement of commodities, capital, labor force, and investment,” Melikyan said.

He assured those present that no sharp price growth is expected in Armenia, on the contrary, the agreement will give a number of advantages, including those related to customs duties imposed on some goods.

According to the parliamentary deputy, by using Armenia’s privileges, many EU countries may move some of their commodities through the territory of Armenia, which will be to Armenia’s advantage.
