Seyran Ohanyan: Armenia has to constantly hold bludgeon in hand

"Armenia has to be on the alert constantly and hold a bludgeon because we “are lucky” in terms of neighbors,” Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan said today at the meeting with the faculty and students of the French University in Armenia. 

In his words, 2014 was a difficult year but the Armed Forces managed to overcome the challenges facing them.

“We won the Karabakh war thanks to our unity. We succeeded in creating an army amid the war forced upon us, serious challenges, blockade, and earthquake,” the minister said.

He stressed that the Armenian Armed Forces currently observe the ceasefire and relative peace, despite Azerbaijan’s belligerent rhetoric.

“Armenia will continue to observe that situation, regardless of belligerent statements of Azerbaijani leadership,” Ohanyan said.

Speaking about cooperation with the French University in Armenia, he said that some students of the university undergo practical training at Defense Ministry and those wishing to work in the Armenian Armed Forces are allowed to do it.
