H. Abrahamyan receives citizens who suffered due to land alienation

Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received today Yerevan residents who suffered as a result of alienation of their housing spaces for urban development in various districts of the city, according to the press office of the government.

The prime minister heard the complaints of citizens, while the head of Glendale Hills Company Vahe Yakubyan provided explanations about the problems voiced.

The head of government stressed the need for the developer to deal with various problems related to the construction work and documents according to a fixed schedule.

Hovik Abrahamyan assured the citizens that their problems will be at the center of his attention.

As was reported, former residents of Yekmalian Street in Yerevan staged a protest outside the government today. They blocked Tigran Mets Street near the government building, demanding a meeting with Prime Minister Abrahamyan.

A protester, Anahit Poghosyan, told Aysor.am that 8 years ago their houses were demolished, with promises being made to give them apartments within two years. “Eight years have passed, but we did not get anything in return”, the woman said.
