Prime minister offers congratulations on Armenian Press Day

Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan sent a congratulatory message on Armenian Press Day, according to the press office of the government.

The message reads:

“Respected members of the Armenian press.

I warmly congratulate you on your professional holiday – Day of the Armenian Press.

The Armenian press dates from the publication of the first Armenian magazine – Azdarar, and the 220th anniversary of that magazine we proudly celebrate today.

Freedom of the press and expression is inseparable from the idea of a legal state and constitutes a necessary element of democratic society. I am glad that the Armenian press played and continues to play an invaluable role in the strengthening of Armenian statehood, the implementation of reforms, and the formation of a civil society in Armenia.

Taking the opportunity, I express my gratitude to all the members of the Armenian press for large-scale work done in the field.
I congratulate you again on the professional holiday and wish you success in your work, freedom in your activities, and successful implementation of your important mission”.
