Oskanyan: Opposition don’t need positions, we want free elections
This rally in Liberty Square of Yerevan is not an end in itself, the deputy of Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), ex-Foreign Minister of Armenia Vartan Oskanyan said during the joint rally of three non-coalition parties in Liberty Square of Yerevan today.
“Our presence here is not an end in itself - we had to come because we have no alternative. Our actions are due to the call of the times: the country is in a grave situation,” Vartan Oskanyan noted.
“If the situation continues, we will endanger our country’s sovereignty, but the saddest thing is that the authorities ignore the current situation, they pretend everything is OK and they even try to prolong their power by making amendments to the Constitution of Armenia,” Oskanyan said.
In his words, the Armenian authorities are not only unprepared, but they are also unable to change anything in the country.
“This system can only be broken by a change of power. Our country is in such a situation that only authorities elected in fair elections can get the country out of this situation,” Oskanyan said.
According to him, social demand for change of power has emerged.
“The opposition do not need posts, we want free and fair elections,” Vardan Oskanyan stated, noting that BHK Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan will present a roadmap of further actions.
