Agreement reached to continue meetings of Armenian and Azeri Presidents

The talks on Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement initiated by French President Francois Hollande have been completed in Paris on October 27, according to the press service of the Armenian president.

Following separate face-to-face talks of Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan with French President in the morning, Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev held negotiations with the participation of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs and the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk. Then Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev held face-to-face talks.

The results of talks were summarized late Monday during a joint meeting of French President Francois Hollande, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs Igor Popov of Russia, James Warlick of the U.S. and Pierre Andrieu of France and the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk.

The meeting participants stressed the importance of a dialog under the chairmanship of the OSCE Minsk Group and efforts to build trust for progress in the peace process. The absence of an alternative to a peaceful resolution of the conflict was underlined. An agreement was reached to continue high-level negotiations between the sides.

On the evening of October 27 a supper on behalf of French President was given in honor of Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan at the Elysee Palace in Paris.
