Haykakan Zhamanak: Vache Gabrielyan may become deputy PM

“Haykakan Zhamanak” writes citing its sources that Vache Gabrielyan, who is currently the chief advisor to Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, may get “off the boat and into the party”. According to the daily’s sources, there is great likelihood that he may be appointed deputy prime minister of Armenia.

“Gabrielyan may not become deputy prime minister now since under the Constitution, one shall serve a minister before receiving that status. But there is no doubt that he will be appointed as minister of international economic integration and reforms.

The National Assembly yesterday started urgently debating the bill on the creation of that ministry. At the government’s request, the issue will be debated under a special procedure, and the second reading will take place 24 hours after the first one. It means that the new ministry will be established within 10 days and the minister will also be appointed during this period. Many are sure that the issue of appointing a deputy prime minister will be solved by the same package,” the paper says.
