Zaruhi Postanjyan’s initiative fails again

The draft document on recognition of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic’s independence submitted by member of Heritage parliamentary faction Ms. Zaruhi Postanjyan was rejected once again at the Armenian parliament’s sitting today.

Member of Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) faction Artak Zakaryan declared prior to the vote that they will not vote on the draft. In his words, with yet another emergence of that initiative, the parliament found itself in an incomprehensible and complex situation.

“It should be an initiative of 131 parliamentary deputies, with all of them voting in favor. When such a need arises, a vote will be held duly,” Zakaryan said.
