Armenian government fails to allocate money for NA building preservation: Head of NA Staff
According to the 2019 draft law the NA is carrying out a program on ensuring of implementation of NA's authorities aimed at ensuring and improving legislative field, Head of the NA staff, Secretary General Ara Saghatelyan said at the 2019 draft budget discussion today.
“The program includes 4 events and costs 5 billion 254 million AMD which is 399 million AMD more as compared with the previous year’s budget. The addition is agreed with the increase of material means intended for bonuses,” he said.
Saghatelyan stressed that for ensuring NA activity and for carrying out analytical representative services 4 billion 968 million AMD is necessary which is more from the past year’s allocation by 323 million AMD. He also said 3 billion 632 million AMD is necessary for work payments for which last year 598 million less was requested.
“As a result we are going to have at least 48 days of regular and 23 days of extraordinary sessions, at least 28 parliamentary hearings and 25 briefings. During the year about 380 laws and NA draft bills will be adopted, 23 visits of official delegations and 7-10 visits of friendship groups will be implemented,” he said.
The head of the NA staff draw the attention of the government on the means necessary for the preservation of the NA building, for carrying out reconstruction works. He stressed that in one case they required 109 million AMD from the government, in another 205 million AMD while no allocations were made.
“I want to focus the attention of the lawmakers for them to undertake efforts for acquiring money from the government, otherwise the next NA will face a number of issues,” Saghatelyan stressed.
