Charges brought against former high-ranking police officer, petition for arrest submitted to court

Charges have been filed against former head of police inner troops, colonel Gegham Petrosyan in the sidelines of March 1 criminal case.

“Charges have been filed with the features of Part 1, Article 104,” spokesperson for Armenia’s Special Investigation Service Marina Ohanjanyan told Aysor.am.

The petition to arrest Gegham Petrosyan has been submitted to court.

The Part 1 of Article 104 is about murder – illegally depriving a person from life. It sets punishment from 8-15 years in custody.

Petrosyan is accused of murdering one of the protestors during the March 1, 2008 unrest in Yerevan.
