Armenia’s PM claims Amulsar exploitation not to result on loss of Jermuk as resort town
Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan claims that during the studies for exploitation of Amulsar the first issue he was interested in was Jermuk’s future as a resort town.
“I have forwarded a condition myself, future of Jermuk was a principle issue. Do we have the answer to the question? Do we put an end to Jermuk being resort town? Combining all the materials, my answer is no, why? Because the main thing making Jermuk a resort town, is Jermuk mineral waters, which will not be harmed anyway,” Pashinyan stated in live video on Facebook.
He also urged not to speculate on the issue of losing Jermuk’s attraction, claiming that there are many tourist cities in the world not far from which many mines are being exploited.
