PM’s statement over Amulsar not against people’s interests: Lilit Makunts
As a political team My Step faction has its position over Amulsar exploitation issues, faction’s head Lilit Makunts told the reporters today.
“In this phase we are not talking about mine exploitation but the construction works necessary in the first phase. If in this case any diversions from set criteria be noticed, the inspection body will implement all the necessary measures. If in the next 90 days the issues are not solved the mine exploitation will be stopped,” she said, adding that the faction agrees with this position and shares it.
“The decision voiced by the prime minister does not contradict the interests of the people. There is no need to divide into those for the people and those against. A decision is being made and we all must act in a way not to harm our state interests, population and environment,” she said, adding that the disagreements in the faction over any issue and including Amulsar may not become a reason for splitting.
“Having different opinions, different viewpoints inside the faction is the strongest side of our team. Sometimes the adoption of decision is delayed due to different opinions. We discuss them and in the end come to consensus, but it is not splitting,” she said.
