Corruption Prevention Commission to examine activity of 10,000 officials and related people: Haykuhi Harutyunyan

Aysor.am has conducted interview with the newly elected chairperson of the Corruption Prevention Commission Haykuhi Harutyunyan.

Speaking about the works of the commission and its key mission and goal, the newly elected chairperson said that the activities of the structure are clearly fixed by the anti-corruption strategy approved by the government and legislative functions adopted by the National Assembly.

“The commission will work to ensure restoration of the harm caused by state as a result of possible corruption deals of the officials. The commission has one mission – restore the trust toward the state. Our priority will be the protection of citizen’s interests,” she said, adding that they will elaborate transparent and public activity free of any restrictions.

Asked whether  as a chairperson of the commission she guarantees that her team will not be restricted in presenting to public the possible corruption deals of officials, Harutyunyan said, “My guarantee is me, the stubbornness I have displayed at my previous work, my ambitions and skills I have acquired thanks to my experience.”

Haykuhi Harutyunyan said that the structure will have staff comprising of 40 people who will keep under their limelight and analyze the activity of over 10,000 officials and people related to them.

To note, the Ethics Commission of High-Ranking Officials examined the activity of about 3,500 officials.
