Kocharyan and others’ trial is farce, court not ready to implement justice in this case: lawyer

The trial of Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan and several other former senior officials is really farce, but not because what the legal successors of the March 1 victims claim, lawyer of Armenia’s second president Hayk Alumyan stated.

“It is farce because the court is not ready to implement justice in this case,” Alumyan said.

The lawyer stressed that in this case the court is one of the accusers.

“We in essence, are in opposite sides, we – the defendants and their lawyers – on one side, the accusers and the court – on the other. Really this may be named farce. As to what the successors of victims – Tigran Yegoryan, Seda Safaryan complain of – actions of court – they are just trying to find another reason not to come to court and in this way make pressure on it,” Alumyan said.
