Vincent Roche named the 16th laureate of the State Award of the Republic of Armenia for Global Contribution to Humanity through High Technology

Today, the Award Committee of the Republic of Armenia for Global Contribution to Humanity through High Technology announced its 16^th laureate: Vincent Roche, CEO and Chair of the Board of Directors of Analog Devices Inc. (ADI).

The laureate’s name will be announced by Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia; Hovik Musayelyan, Coordinator of the Executive Board and the International Selection Committee of the Award, and Director of Synopsys Armenia; and Armen Avetisian, General Director of Viva.

For 16 years, Viva has been the main supporter of the award.

“Armenia, as a unique technological center and regional hub, can and should show its appreciation to the technological giants who have made significant contributions over the years and decades. These are individuals whose innovations, groundbreaking inventions, and professional efforts have improved and simplified the lives of many. They have introduced innovative solutions and provided services to millions of people across different countries. In general, this is a beautiful event, that brings together the Government, the tech community, and sponsors to honor and celebrate these technological giants for their global impact on the field,” said RA Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation Mkhitar Hayrapetyan.

“The “Global High-Tech Award” initiated by Synopsys 15 years ago was aimed at increasing the visibility and recognition of Armenia,” said the Coordinator of the Executive Board and International Selection Panel works, Synopsys Armenia Director Hovik Musayelyan. “This award is also a successful example of business and state cooperation, which helps position Armenia as a developing high-tech hub, and most importantly, contributes to Armenia’s technological empowerment and independence.”

The award ceremony is initiated and supported by Synopsys. The award ceremony is supported by the Ministry of High-Tech Industry, the Union of ICT Employers and the “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund.

Vincent Roche is the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Analog Devices Inc. (ADI), a leading provider of high-performance semiconductors. During Mr. Roche’s tenure as CEO, the company’s total return was 546% (compared to 339% for the S&P 500, or 1.6 times the S&P 500 over that period as of 1 November 2024).

Mr. Roche is a member of the Semiconductor Industry Association, the MIT President’s Executive Advisory Council, and the MIT High-Tech Leadership Council. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Systems and an Honorary Doctorate of Science (Engineering) from the University of Limerick, Ireland.
