Vazgen Saghatelyan and Narek Samsonyan never used sexual insults on their program: Lawyer responds to Arayik Harutyunyan
Vazgen Saghatelyan’s lawyer, Arsen Babayan, commented on the statements made yesterday by Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff Arayik Harutyunyan.
“During his interview with Factor TV yesterday, the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff Arayik Harutyunyan repeatedly made statements that do not correspond to reality.
In particular, when responding to questions about the arrest of Vazgen Saghatelyan and Narek Samsonyan, Harutyunyan openly misrepresented the facts. He claimed that the criminal prosecution and arrests of Vazgen and Narek were allegedly based on sexual insults they had made on air.
As the defense attorney for Vazgen Saghatelyan, I officially state that neither Vazgen Saghatelyan nor Narek Samsonyan has ever used sexual insults during the entire period of hosting their ‘Imnemnimi’ program.
It is clear that Arayik Harutyunyan and the entire government team are consistently spreading this falsehood in an attempt to pressure both the investigative body and the court.
To clarify for Arayik Harutyunyan what constitutes an insult of a sexual nature: if someone publicly says, for example, ‘go do something with a donkey in your barn’ or ‘we will do something with all the donkeys in your barn,’ these would be considered sexual insults because the meaning of such phrases refers to a sexual act. In contrast, expressions such as ‘it turns out you’re such a son of a dog’ do not carry sexual meaning, as they characterize a person lacking moral integrity,” Babayan said.
