Archbishop Arshak: The circulated videos are fake, and no one has taken responsibility

The call to suspend my service is directly linked to the videos that were circulated, yet no one has taken responsibility for them, Archbishop Arshak told journalists. According to him, even the Investigative Committee acknowledges that the materials in question are illegal.

“There is no one who can say, ‘Yes, we made, prepared, or fabricated those videos.’ No one. These videos have no owner. And when something has no owner, its credibility naturally becomes questionable. There is no one who can say, ‘We did this, and it is real,’” the Archbishop said.

He noted that everyone is aware of the campaign being carried out against clergy members, especially those who are not “infatuated” with Nikol Pashinyan.

“If I were infatuated with Nikol Pashinyan, I wouldn’t face any criticism or harsh remarks. This situation has a clearly defined political direction,” Archbishop Arshak stated.

He also noted that when he was summoned to the Investigative Committee, he was told that there were preliminary investigation secrets that he was obliged not to disclose.

“I said, very well, but does this prohibition apply only to me or to you as well? It turned out that only I am restricted. It’s like playing football with a single goal: some people tie my hands while others try to score. And suddenly, it turns out that this preliminary investigation secret can end up in the hands of third or even fourth parties,” the Archbishop said.
