Amid a campaign against the Church, the government is set to shut down the Shogakat television channel today

The government is expected to approve today a decision to liquidate the closed joint-stock company Spiritual and Cultural Public Television Company.

Established in 2011, the company has broadcast the audiovisual program Shogakat since its founding.

The liquidation is being justified by amendments to the Audiovisual Media Act initiated by ruling Civil Contract party deputies Sisak Gabrielyan and Taguhi Ghazaryan.

It should be noted that the termination of Shogakat’s broadcasting is taking place amid an ongoing campaign targeting the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church.
