Archbishop Mikayel Ajapahyan undergoes surgery

The surgery of Archbishop Mikayel Ajapahyan at the Izmirlian Medical Center has been completed successfully, according to a statement from his defense team.

Earlier, in an interview with Aysor.am, his lawyer, Marine Farmanyan, noted that the Archbishop’s blood sugar level was elevated and that doctors were working to stabilize his condition prior to the operation.

It should be recalled that the health of Archbishop Mikayel Ajapahyan, head of the Shirak Diocese, has recently deteriorated. He is currently serving a two-year prison sentence.
