His Holiness visits Archbishop Mikayel Ajapahyan at the Izmirlyan Medical Center

This morning, Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II visited Archbishop Mikayel Ajapahyan, Primate of the Shirak Diocese, who is currently receiving treatment at the Izmirlyan Medical Center. Anna Demirchyan, Head of the Medical Center’s Media Department, informed Aysor.am of the visit.

She noted that the visit was brief.

“The Archbishop’s condition is assessed as satisfactory, and he will remain under medical supervision for the time being,” the Medical Center reported.

Father Yesayi Artenyan, Director of the Information System of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, told Aysor.am that His Holiness visited Archbishop Mikayel at the Izmirlyan Medical Center and conveyed his best wishes on the occasion of the New Year and Christmas.

Archbishop Mikayel Ajapahyan recently underwent surgery at the Izmirlyan Medical Center. On October 3, he was sentenced to two years in prison on charges of “public calls to seize power,” which he denies.
