Armenia at the center of the struggle for resources and supply routes, yet an alternative exists even now: Ashotyan

In today’s world, the struggle is over two key factors: resources and supply routes. This was stated by Armen Ashotyan, Vice Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia, during the discussion “Armenia and Transport Megaprojects” organized by the party.

"In medical terms, today’s struggle is for blood and blood vessels. Armenia has recently found itself at one of the focal points of this struggle," he said, emphasizing the growing disregard for international law – a trend he noted has been voiced by leaders of major powers, including the U.S. President, and Aliyev.

According to Ashotyan, the current authorities have promoted the thesis that there is no alternative under these conditions. “Our discussion today is precisely about the fact that even in the current situation, an alternative exists. It is not only a political formula, but one supported by economic, professional, and logistical justifications,” he stated.

He added that, in the view of the ruling authorities, Armenia’s role in these processes is presented in a one-sided manner – serving not its own national interests, but the economic and geopolitical interests of the European Union.
