Pashinyan: Armenia ready to dispel all concerns of friendly Iran
We are very attentive to statements from Iran. We have done everything and will continue to do everything to dispel any concerns of Islamic Republic of Iran, a friendly country, Pashinyan said in a conversation with reporters.
“No rally has been banned anywhere in Armenia since 2018, and we cannot act differently in an isolated case, because that is the reality. At the same time, forms of expression should not disrupt the work of the Iranian or any other embassy. We will closely monitor the situation and ensure that, within the framework of our democratic principles, no problems arise for the embassy of our friendly and brotherly Iran,” the Prime Minister added.
The statement comes after the Iranian ambassador to Armenia noted that recent protests outside the embassy were disrupting operations and giving the impression in Tehran that Armenia could become a platform for forces hostile to Iran.
Regarding Iran’s concerns about the TRIPP project, Pashinyan said Armenia maintains constant contact with Iranian leadership and is ready to respond to any additional questions following the publication of the TRIPP framework.
