“I express my gratitude to the Turkish foreign minister”: Alen Simonyan

National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan has denied reports that the Turkish Foreign Minister stated Turkey would support Nikol Pashinyan in the 2026 elections.

“No such statement was made,” Simonyan told reporters. According to him, the Turkish official emphasized support for the process led by the current Armenian government.

Simonyan added that he had expressed his gratitude to the Turkish Foreign Minister and to all regional partners who support “the calls of the majority of the Armenian public to pursue peace and trade, and to develop commerce within the framework of TRIPP.”
