I renounce the treasonous bishops, priests, and deacons who have joined them - former Father Geghard

Former Father Geghard Hovhannisyan announced that he renounces “the treasonous bishops, priests, and deacons who have joined them and bear the title of prodigal son.”

“I do not accept their anti-canonical behavior, false ceremonies, or rituals. I refuse to recognize them as clergy of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church — bearers of true life and the holy path, preachers of truth.

All traitors who have consciously taken upon themselves blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, as well as those who have renounced the high calling of fidelity, are henceforth anathematized, schismatic, and accursed in my eyes.

I declare with full responsibility that I am devoted to my roots, national traditions, values, Armenian identity, and worldview.

I am a faithful and devoted son of the Catholicos of All Armenians, a defender of the immutability, strengthening, and development of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church.

I recognize and condemn the Armenian Genocide, the destruction of the holy sites of Artsakh, the Armenian trace, and cultural heritage.

Throughout my entire conscious life, I will condemn all those responsible for the forced displacement of the Armenians of Artsakh. At every opportunity and within my capabilities, I will contribute to the restoration of Artsakh’s right to self-determination,” said Geghard Hovhannisyan.
