Pashinyan: There is complete peace along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border

Peace has been established between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated in the National Assembly, referring to assessments by Armenia’s Foreign Intelligence Service that a military escalation between the two countries is now considered almost impossible.

He noted that in the past, some members of parliament had been citizens of a state that collapsed, in part due to its involvement in a self-destructive arms race.

“Our strategy is clear: we are systematically strengthening the defense capability of our country, and I can state that this process is being implemented successfully,” Pashinyan said.

According to him, rhetoric in both Azerbaijan and Armenia has changed. Addressing potential security risks and threats, he emphasized that Armenia’s state institutions continuously analyze the situation and that all relevant services are fulfilling their responsibilities.

“Armenia has not lost vigilance for a single minute or second and will never lose it. But today, as of January 21, 2026, there is complete peace along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border,” he assured.
