TRIPP does not in any way regulate Armenia’s de-blockade issue: Khachatryan

TRIPP does not regulate the issue of lifting Armenia’s blockade in any way, Artur Khachatryan, a deputy from the Armenia faction, told reporters at the National Assembly.

According to him, the August 8 document states that Armenia would receive a reciprocal benefit.

“That is everything except the de-blockade itself. For that to happen, at the very least the Yeraskh-Nakhichevan railway and road routes must become operational, as well as the road from Ijevan to Ghazakh,” he said.

The MP noted that if energy infrastructure is routed through TRIPP, it would also be possible to establish other nodes based on the same principle of reciprocity.

“But it is obvious that the Armenian authorities are afraid to make such demands of Azerbaijan. Instead, they say they are inclined to take a different approach toward Azerbaijan – namely, allowing Azerbaijan to import goods from third countries through Armenian territory,” Khachatryan added.

According to him, their position is that all arrangements must be implemented strictly on the basis of reciprocity.
