80 billion drams will be allocated to increase pensions, funds are available: Torosyan (Video)

“The government has a 2021-26 program that it is implementing. The government continues to operate until the formation of a new government, and any action it takes is legitimate, falling within the framework of that program or deriving from it. However, objective circumstances have recently emerged – namely, our economic growth indicator for 2025 – which provide grounds to draw new conclusions regarding fiscal policy and to make decisions that previously might have seemed riskier. Based on this, a decision was made to increase pensions,” Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Arsen Torosyan said at a briefing with journalists after the government session, answering why the pension increase was decided at this moment.

He explained that the budgetary funds required for this year’s pension increase will remain within the framework of approximately 80 billion drams already available and will be transferred to the ministry’s budget through reallocations.
