Any serious shock in Iran can immediately affect Armenia – His Grace Bishop Serovbe

The Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Germany, His Grace Bishop Serovbe Isakhanyan, believes that Armenians should be interested in ensuring that developments in neighboring Iran unfold as peacefully as possible, without leading to instability, clashes or violence.

According to the Primate, for Armenia, Iran is not merely a neighboring state, but a country of vital geopolitical importance and a key trade and economic partner.

“That is why any serious upheaval in Iran can immediately affect Armenia. Beyond state interests, there is also a human and historical dimension – the presence of the Iranian-Armenian community, which has a centuries-old history in Iran. The security and well-being of our Iranian-Armenian sisters and brothers cannot leave us indifferent.

I believe we should all be interested in the formation of a stable and democratic government in Iran as a result of political changes. At the same time, we must clearly understand that the internal processes of any country are first of all the choice and responsibility of its own people. Interest does not mean interference, but rather a stance in favor of peace, stability and cooperation. We can only wish that any changes take place through non-violent and lawful means, so that their outcome is not chaos, but stability and development. A stable and developing Iran will strengthen the security of the entire region, including Armenia,” His Holiness Serovbe noted.
