No information on Armenian citizens killed in Iran, says RA Foreign Ministry

The Armenian Embassy in Iran continues to operate in emergency mode. With the Embassy’s support, a second Armenian citizen returned to Armenia on March 9, the RA Foreign Ministry spokesperson reported.

The Embassy receives an average of 20-25 calls daily, primarily regarding the possibility of crossing the Armenia-Iran border. Border crossings in both directions are currently operating normally.

Due to communication restrictions, the Embassy continues to assist in relaying information about Armenians in Iran to their relatives. At present, there is no information indicating that any Armenian citizens have been killed as a result of recent developments in Iran.

Foreign citizens also continue to contact the Embassy for guidance on entering Armenia; they are provided with necessary clarifications and referrals.

Additionally, the Embassy is assisting diplomats from several accredited foreign missions and their families in facilitating their return via Armenian territory.
