Violence against a 1.2-year-old child by a stepmother was not accidental but deliberate – Interior Minister

Violence against a 1.2-year-old child was not a coincidence but a deliberate act, said Arpine Sargsyan in an interview with News.am.

“We received an alert from a medical center. As a result of the operational work carried out, it became clear that the incident was not accidental but a specific deliberate act. A criminal case on attempted murder has been initiated, and the person suspected of committing the act was immediately arrested,” she said.

Sargsyan confirmed that the suspect in the case is the child’s stepmother․
