There is no unusual flow of Iranian-Armenians to Armenia, Zareh Sinanyan says

Zareh Sinanyan, Chief Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, assured reporters at a briefing in the National Assembly that there is no unusual movement of Iranian-Armenians to Armenia.

“As such, there is no escape or mass relocation of [Iranian] Armenians to Armenia. We are constantly in touch with communities, and while occasional movement is possible, it is mostly not happening. People are staying home, being cautious, and trying to avoid dangerous areas. They hope this situation will end soon,” the official said.

He also addressed reports of two Iranian-Armenians being slightly injured, noting that the information was unclear.

Sinanyan emphasized that he was not instructed to prevent Diaspora structures from discussing Artsakh, in order to protect Armenia’s foreign policy.

“I know what statements I can make, which ones align with our foreign policy today, and how to stay within those boundaries,” he said.
