Some forces are preparing a new September war with grave consequences, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a briefing with reporters, clarifying what he meant by “war parties.”

“The war party is becoming more evident every day, because these parties and circles say that they are not against peace, and at the same time start saying that if they come to power, they will begin revising peace. I want to say very directly, without any pretense, that this means war – a war that would lead not only to the loss of the territory of the Republic of Armenia, but also to the loss of its sovereignty,” Pashinyan said.

He claimed that some of them do not even understand what they are saying.

“The texts they voice are written elsewhere, and they are merely readers. Moreover, forces and political figures who do not understand what they are saying should not claim any official status in the Republic of Armenia,” he said, adding that some became even angrier after his statement.

“All forces that come from the position of revising peace which means an inevitable war,  and not long after the elections, at the latest in the fall,” he said, noting that if necessary he could name those forces.

Speaking about hybrid war, without specifying the source of the threat, including whether it comes from Russia, Pashinyan said it manifests itself when various false claims are spread about him and his family.

He noted that Armenia is cooperating with the EU and other partners that have tools to combat hybrid warfare, particularly disinformation.
