The April War was the last victory which had heroes, who had names – Mikael Minasyan

Ten years ago today, the April War began, marking the last battlefield victory of the Republic of Armenia – the final consolidation of that victory on the diplomatic front, the former Ambassador of Armenia to the Vatican, Mikael Minasyan wrote.

According to Minasyan, in 2016, a scenario was attempted to be imposed on Armenia, which was first rejected by the efforts of the Armenian army and later by the work of the state.

“Armenia won abroad, but began to lose within the country due to the aggressive ‘not a piece of land’ propaganda, the spread of the thesis ‘hand over to land the one who will hand over a land,’ and the propaganda of defeat.” 

But that is another story.

The April War was the last victory that had heroes that had names, whose heroism was recognized, documented, and appreciated.

It was the last time when everyone and everything was in its place: the Diaspora and its structures, the state and its institutions, decision-makers and allies.
