Artur has not yet said his final word on the mat

Reports are circulating in the media in recent hours claiming that multiple Olympic, world, and European champion Artur Aleksanyan will miss the entire 2026 season, the Wrestling Federation said in a statement.

“We officially announce that, at this stage, Artur Aleksanyan will only miss the European Championship, as he is currently recovering from an injury.

Artur has not yet said his final word on the mat,” the statement reads.
