18-year-old Davit transferred to “Abovyan” penitentiary in his own interests – clarification

18-year-old Davit Minasyan has been transferred from the “Armavir” penitentiary to the “Abovyan” penitentiary in his own interests, Armenia’s Ministry of Justice Penitentiary Service told Aysor.am.

“The transfer was carried out in the best interests of the individual, taking into account his age and the importance of ensuring continuity of secondary education,” Nona Navikyan, spokesperson for the Penitentiary Service, told Aysor.am.

Lawyer Lusine Martirosyan stated that Davit’s condition is not good.

“Davit’s right to life is at risk. This child should be transferred to a hospital, not another penitentiary,” the lawyer noted.

18-year-old schoolboy Davit Minasyan, who was involved in the incident with Nikol Pashinyan at St. Anna Church, was sentenced to two months of imprisonment by a decision of Judge Mnatsakan Martirosyan.

Davit Minasyan lost consciousness before entering the “Armavir” penitentiary and was taken to hospital. And today he has been transferred to the “Abovyan” penitentiary.
