Did Pashinyan order inspections of Samvel Karapetyan’s businesses? SRC Chairman clarifies
Eduard Hakobyan, Chairman of the State Revenue Committee, stated that he has not received any instructions from Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to conduct inspections of Samvel Karapetyan’s businesses.
When asked how Pashinyan could claim that Karapetyan might “turn into a bum,” a representative of the Prime Minister’s office declined to comment.
Hakobyan emphasized that during his tenure, he has never received orders to initiate inspections targeting any specific business.
“Our administration operates on a targeted, risk-based approach. We discuss with the Prime Minister the potential risks associated with particular businesses, including possible shadow-related risks and existing issues,” the SRC Chairman said during a briefing with journalists at the National Assembly.
It should be recalled that earlier today, Nikol Pashinyan stated that he fears Samvel Karapetyan could “go from being a billionaire to a bum” by the end of the year.
In response, Narek Karapetyan, a board member of the “Strong Armenia” party, said:
“This is what happens when a bum at heart becomes prime minister.”
