Do not try to restore your shattered reputation at the expense of the Holy Church – Father Psak

The Armenian Apostolic Holy Church is neither a state institution nor an administrative body, said Father Psak Mkrtchyan, spiritual pastor of the Holy Mother of God Church in Kanaker.

He stressed that the mission of the Church is fundamentally different, although throughout history it has at times been compelled to assume certain state functions.

“The Holy Church is guided by the doctrine of Christ and the fulfillment of its spiritual mission. The Church respects state laws and has always been pro-state, national, and patriotic.

Therefore, the idea expressed by certain individuals does not withstand any criticism. Do not attempt to restore your shattered reputation at the expense of the Holy Church,” Father Psak said.

Nikol Pashinyan, who has declared a campaign against the Church, again addressed the clergy today, stating that the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin is “polluted” and adding that the clergy cannot be excluded from the Universal Declaration System.
